After the Bible, The Imitation of Christ is the all-time favorite book of Catholics throughout the world. And of the English editions, none can equal this inspiring translation by Bishop Richard Challoner.

This book speaks to the soul of every true Christian, reminding us of the fleeting nature of earthly joy as opposed to the eternity of happiness with God.

The guide of the saints since it first appeared in 1418, it was the sole spiritual reading of St. Therese of Lisieux, who loved it and knew it by heart.

Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange asserted that the true mysticism of which it speaks is accessible to all, if they are willing to follow the way of humility, the cross, continual prayer, and docility to the Holy Ghost.

This new, revised edition features a gold-stamped, bonded leather case with zipper, gilded pages and classic Gustave Doré images from the Life of Christ, making it a beautiful and durable devotional companion.

A wonderful, instructional book on how to become a better Christian. I love the size of the book and especially the zippered version. The quality of It's construction is great. My version includes a cross on the cover below the title.

A Major Influence on my Conversion

Posted by George O. on May 24th 2023

A beautiful book, both physically and in regard to prose, the TAN books version of The Imitation of Christ is the first book I picked up when exploring my faith and seeking for the essence of Catholicism. I could not have had a better catechesis! This book changed my life and brought me into the fold of God. May God bless TAN books and may the Holy Spirit fill them in their work.

Beautiful Message in a Beautiful Book

Posted by JULIE R. on Oct 30th 2022

In a world that seems to be embracing ugliness this book is a refreshing breath of fresh air. The binding, zipper and golden edges are truly lovely. The content is even better. This is a must have for any Catholic collection. In fact, The Imitation of Christ was St. Therese;s go to for spiritual reading. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Let us flatter our Lord, but moreover, let us read this book and embody it message so we can love him better each and every moment of our lives.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the zippered closure. I bought 8 of them - one for me and one for each of my 7 children. Thank you so much to customer service who resolved a problem!

    Good quality edition

Posted by Sean P. on Oct 24th 2022

This a very durable edition of the Imitation of Christ. I also find the Challoner translation more readable than others out there. I did find a few obvious typos so there is a need for better proofreading, but it did not affect the content.
